A lively Solar Info Night in St Peter’s
3 February 2026
The Inner West still has half the uptake of rooftop solar of much of the rest of Australia so last night we were back in the community doing what we can to drive the energy transition around here a bit harder.
Thanks to the residents of St Peters for coming along last night for our first Solar and Battery Information Night, held at the Southern Cross Hotel. Thanks to the hotel staff too for making us so welcome.
The audience at Southern Cross Hotel.
We asked the crowd why they came. “We don’t know enough to make a decision. We don’t know where to begin,” said one attendee. Another said: “We think there are new funding models, and batteries.”
A third said: “The payback. I think it’s getting better and better.” And a fourth said: “I’m getting conflicting information.”
We hope we gave them confidence to let us support them on their solar and battery journey.
Inner West Community Energy has just passed the landmark of supporting $5 million worth of rooftop solar. This month we’ll hit the point of having supported 100 household batteries.
