A buzzing Home Battery Mini-Expo in Marrickille
August 2025
Around 120 Inner Westies descended on the beautiful Marrickville Pavillion on Saturday, August 16 for our first ever Home Battery Mini-Expo.
A break in the August rain made for a stunning Saturday.
The NSW Member for Summer Hill, Jo Haylen, gave a terrific scene-setting opening speech focusing on the positive aspects of us all working together on the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables.
"They have a fantastic mission," Ms Haylen said of IWCE. "They want to make our community 100% renewable energy. I think that is absolutely achievable and the turnout today shows the passion of our community to get there."
The audience of a lively and informative Q&A session.
We ended the Mini-Expo with another 20 households wanting our help to install rooftop solar and a battery, 37 who have solar and now want a battery, and 28 who are keen to replace their gas water heater with a hot water heat pump (a super-efficient way to generate hot water).
A buzzing crowd of visitors and stallholders.
Thanks to all our exhibitors for giving up their Saturday to participate: Enphase, Tesla, Ezy Sunhome, Same Day Hot Water and the Green Living Centre. This event was kindly supported by Inner West Council.
And a special thanks to IWCE Vice President Peter Lawson for making it happen!
Our next community event will be a Solar and Battery Information Night on Tuesday, September 16 at The Royal Hotel, Leichhardt, at 7pm.
